Wrestling is a business that can be loaded with fame and fortune if you are lucky to get noticed and put in the hard work. This can lead to some ordinary joes becoming instant world-famous superstars, while other more talented individuals falter at times and can’t get on the right track. The road to success and fame has led to many superstars finding love either in either the wrestling industry or those related to film and modeling. We have seen wrestlers such as Daniel Bryan, The Undertaker, and Johnny Gargano tie the knot with fellow wrestlers Brie Bella, Michelle McCool, and Candice LeRae.
However, many wrestlers have managed to keep a low profile about their relationships, and many have even married average joes like you and me on their quest to lead a comfortable married life. This has helped them stay away from the spotlight during their time away from the ring and gives them a chance to live a simple life away from the camera. Take a look at some current and past wrestlers who married someone not famous as they try to keep their private lives as far away from the eye of the media as possible.
#10 Curt Hawkins
Curt Hawkins may not be the most successful wrestler in the business, but he has surely seen a lot of success in his life outside the ring. In case you didn’t know, Hawkins has lost over 300 matches in his career in the WWE. While fans have attacked him on social media for bagging hefty paychecks despite being on a losing spree, many other stars have come to his rescue and tutored the fans about what being a jobber really means.
Even though it seems like Hawkins won’t stay with the WWE forever, he can rest assured that he can go back to his life with his wife Lizzie Karcher. We know little about Lizzie Karcher, but the two got married on October 9, 2015, after being in a relationship for a long time. The two have a beautiful daughter named McKenzie who was born on June 14, 2017.
#9 Jason Jordan
Jason Jordan saw a lot of ups and downs in his career with the WWE, however, he will surely be remembered as a successful wrestler even if he never takes to the ring again. While Jordan was put into a weird storyline where Kurt Angle was revealed as his biological father, he was busy trying to actually start a family outside the WWE around the same time.
Jason Jordan tied the knot with April Elizabeth in 2017, with his wedding coinciding with his SmackDown Tag Team Championship triumph. April’s Twitter account states that she is an Owner/Stylist at NE Styles Florida, and she retweets almost everything on Twitter that says anything positive about her husband.
While we still don’t know whether Jason will be able to wrestle again or not after suffering an injury last year, we sure hope that he and his wife will have a successful marriage no matter what comes their way.
He’s one of the frightening monsters in the ring, but he’s just another gentle giant at home. Kane has been WWE’s resident monster for over two decades now and has been used by the company to great effect through various storylines.
On screen, we’ve watched Kane get married to Lita in kayfabe in 2004, Kane has been married to Crystal Maurisa Goins since August 23, 1995, and together they have two daughters. Kane and Crystal tied the knot soon after Kane got his chance in WWE, and it has proven to be his ticket to success as the company has found him a worthy superstar to keep with them for almost two and a half decade. Together, they own an Allstate agency in Knoxville, Tennessee, as Kane also works as an insurer when he is not playing a monster for WWE.
#7 Kevin Owens
For many years Kevin Owens has been picked on by internet fans and critics because of his weight and his not-so-wrestling-physique. However, this hasn’t caused any hindrance in him becoming a one-time Universal Champion.
Owens started off from NXT and gained a lot of attention after winning the NXT Championship. He’s been in some top-level feuds and has won a number of championships in his career.
While fame hasn’t come easy, Owens hasn’t let his current status get to his head and remains a dedicated family guy. He married his wife Karina in 2007. Owens and Karina grew up together, and she stood by him when Owens tried out for amateur matches when he was 16 years old. The two have a son named Owen and a daughter named Élodie Leila. The reason he’s named Owen is in dedication to Owen Hart, after whom Kevin Owens has also dedicated his ring name.
If there was ever a need to put a picture next to the meaning of Powerhouse in the dictionary, Batista’s photo would be the top pick. Batista remained one of the most dominant and powerful wrestlers during his time in WWE. The powerhouse of the faction Evolution was a force to reckon with and could pull off any character required with ease. That helped him start a career in Hollywood which slowly paid dividends later on.
Batista married his first wife, Glenda, in 1990, but the two divorced just eight years later in 1998 after having two daughters together. He married for a second time to Angie the same year as his first divorce, but the two couldn’t last longer than eight years either. During his second marriage, he became an avid collector of vintage metal lunchboxes. His favorite is the 1967 Green Hornet lunchbox as it has Bruce Lee on it.
Batista married for a third time in October 2015, this time to a competitive pole dancer named Sarah Jade. We sincerely hope that the two live a long an happy life together, and their marriage does not come to a premature end like Batista’s first two marriages.
Goldberg is one of the most well-known wrestlers in the industry. He worked for a few promotions, which included World Championship Wrestling (WCW), All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), and WWE. Regarded as one of the most popular professional wrestlers of the late 1990s, Goldberg was the top star and public face of WCW at the peak of the Monday Night Wars. His undefeated streak in singles competition from 1997 to 1998, which was considered the longest winning streak in professional wrestling until Asuka surpassed it in 2017.
Even though Goldberg has been an extremely famous wrestler, he married Wanda Ferraton on April 10, 2005, while he took a long hiatus from wrestling. Wanda Ferraton is a stunt double, and the two met while filming Santa’s Slay. They reside in Bonsall, California, and have one son together named Gage. Gage was the reason Goldberg decided to take it to the squared circle once again and had a short run between 2016-2017 as his son wanted to watch his father wrestle.
#4 Trish Stratus
Widely regarded as the best female wrestler of all time in WWE, Trish Stratus started off as just another eye-candy in the company but made her mark with her wrestling talent. She was extremely successful in her time with the company, and along with fellow wrestler Lita, led the women’s division of the company. Even though being a bombshell blonde brings a lot of trouble, Trish did not let that come in between her love for her childhood friend Ron Fisico.
Ron and Trish became friends at the Bayview Secondary School. They have known each other since then and have been high school sweethearts. They continued to date while at the same time building their individual career which required a lot of time away from each other. After 14 years of dating, the couple married on 30 September 2006. Their wedding ceremony was attended by many of the WWE Divas. Her wedding gown was featured on the cover of Today’s Bride magazine. They could not have an immediate honeymoon since Trish had to film for the show Armed and Famous soon after her marriage.
They now have two children together, with first being born in 2013 and the second being born recently in 2017. Ron is currently working in the fitness industry which is the same field as her wife Trish’s.
#3 Randy Orton
Randy Orton is a third-generation professional wrestler as his grandfather Bob Orton, Sr., his father “Cowboy” Bob Orton, and his uncle Barry Orton all competed in the professional wrestling business. He has become one of the most successful and decorated wrestlers in the history of the company and is recognized by WWE as having the fourth-most world championship victories in history behind only Triple H, Ric Flair and John Cena.
Orton married his first wife Samantha Speno on September 21, 2007, and the two had a daughter together on July 12, 2008, named Alanna Marie Orton. The two separated in 2012, and finally got divorced in mid-2013. Orton married his second wife Kimberly Kessler in 2015. The wrestler popped the question at a candlelit dinner while they were on vacation in Bora Bora. In an interview with Unfiltered, he explained that he had hidden the ring under a napkin.
One thing you might not know is that Kimberly was simply just a fan of Randy Orton, and dreamt about just meeting the superstar. She too was married once before her marriage to Orton and has three children from her first marriage. Their first child together, daughter Brooklyn Rose Orton, was born on November 22, 2016.
#2 Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns is currently one of WWE’s biggest stars and most famous wrestlers as he became the face of the company for some time and still remains their poster boy even after taking a break from wrestling due to an illness. While Reigns’ might have risen to celebrity status, he did not let go of his University girlfriend on the road to fame. Reigns married Galina Joelle Becker in early December 2014, and the two have stuck together through thick and thin. The two got married on a private island.
Galina and Roman Reigns met at Georgia Tech University, where she was also an athlete in the college. The fans of Roman Reigns saw his wife for a first time at 2014 Hall Of Fame ceremony of WWE superstars. Reigns has a daughter named Joelle, with whom he appeared in a public service announcement in June 2014. His wife gave birth to twin boys in 2016. Even though Gelina may not be as famous as her husband, she has been active in the fitness modeling industry and used to be a star volleyball player.
#1 AJ Styles
AJ Styles has taken the WWE by storm and become one of its biggest wrestlers of the century after faltering in his initial run with the company. Known primarily for his work in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), Styles is long known as one of the best professional wrestlers in the world.
Amid all the fortune and fame, Styles has stuck with his wife for almost two decades now even after all that success that has come to him. He married Wendy Jones in 200, and the couple has three sons and a daughter together. An interesting fact to note is that their first son’s middle name was taken from the last name of Jones’ best friend and fellow wrestler Christopher Daniels, whose real name is Daniel Covell. The family lives in Gainesville, Georgia where Wendy is a very passionate school teacher. She has recently been used in many storylines during Styles’ run with WWE, with the most prominent one coming during his feud with longtime friend Samoa Joe.
