Braun Strowman Reveals Emergency Call From WWE
Braun Strowman replaced Roman Reigns this year at WrestleMania when The Big Dog had to back out of the event. He went on to defeat Goldberg and actually win his first major title, becoming the Universal Champion.
Strowman was on WWE’s The Bump, where he talked about how he was the one to replace Roman Reigns. He said that he had gone to the country to spend time with his family and drove 21 hours. He was an hour away from home when he got the call and was told that it was an emergency and that he was needed back in WWE. They sent a jet to pick him up. He got into Wisconsin for three hours, then got on a jet, flew to Orlando at 1:30 AM. He then ended up as the Universal Champion.
“Oh my god. Literally, thinking about it right now, it’s probably the craziest 24 hours of my life. I loaded up last week when everything was starting to lock down in Florida, I was like, ‘I wanna go get in the country.’ I got some land up here in Wisconsin. I came up here to see my family and get away. I drove twenty-one hours and was an hour away from home. And I got a phone call, ‘There’s been some last-minute changes. We need you. It’s an emergency. We’re sending a jet to get you. You leave at 9:00 p.m.’ So I literally got into Wisconsin for three hours, went back, jumped on a jet, flew back to Orlando, landed at 1:30 in the morning. I got up, hit the ground running and lo and behold, came out of the back and the new Universal Champion.”Braun Strowman
The process was evidently overwhelming, but it is good to see that Strowman was ready to be there for WWE at only a moment’s notice.
