Bray Wyatt is a wrestling genius in terms of how many times he has reinvented himself with varying degrees of success. However, each iteration that he comes up with ends up being better than the last one. Wyatt debuted inside the WWE landscape as Husky Harris, a member of the ill-fated faction ‘Nexus’.
After that experiment ended, Harris went back to developmental where he came up with the Bray Wyatt persona, a dark cult leader with his family known as the Wyatt Family. The Family included Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, with Braun Strowman joining them for a while too.
Wyatt’s cult leader gimmick was going great and he always performed up to expectation, but an inability to get big wins meant that the character was going to lose credibility. After losing to John Cena at WrestleMania 30 and then Undertaker at WrestleMania 31, the project looked pretty dead. Follow this up with a 2 week long stint as WWE Champion which ended at the hands of Randy Orton, and we can see that Wyatt needed a gimmick change to stay alive.
This has come in the form of The Fiend. From what we have seen, this looks like the next explosive thing in wrestling. The Fiend will be facing Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at Hell In A Cell.
