Edge Pays Emotional Tribute To Randy Orton
Edge returned to the ring for the first time after 9 years in a singles match when he faced Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing Match at WrestleMania 36. On the night, after a brawl that headed backstage, both men gave it their all, but Edge was the one to come away with the win on the night.
He paid a candid tribute to Orton now, saying that he was a worthy opponent for his return to the ring, even if the match did take place under extremely strange circumstances. He said that he will always be proud for what they had accomplished and that they had not seen the last of each other.
“[It was my] first time in a singles match in 9 years. Against, in my opinion, the most naturally talented person in the industry in @randyorton I will always be proud of what we accomplished with some strange circumstances. I have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of each other. And for that I’m strangely thankful. He pulled me to a 40 minute fight after being retired for 9 years. Wasn’t sure I had that in me. Now I know. He pushed me.”Edge
