Elias Signs A Multi-Year Deal With WWE
On the latest episode of WWE Backstage, it was confirmed that Elias has signed a multi-year contract extension with WWE. While no clear contract details have been shared online yet, it is good to hear that the sinister songster will be sticking around in WWE for a few more years. Even if he hasn’t been given an opportunity to really contend for midcard or top championships in the company, there is no denying that Elias is one of the most popular stars on the entire roster.
Over the last couple of years, Elias has repeatedly proven that there are few better than him when it comes to controlling a live crowd, and while his gimmick could easily have gotten very stale, he has put in the work to ensure that he has remained a hot commodity within the company (except for his association with Shane McMahon, of course).
WWE confirmed the news that first broke on WWE Backstage on its Twitter by saying, “As announced on #WWEBackstage, @IAmEliasWWE has signed a new contract.”
Elias has now joined a host of other talent like The Miz and The Street Profits who have been reported to have signed contract extensions with the company over the last couple of months or so. As things stand, Elias has little to no momentum, despite being one of the most consistently entertaining Superstars in the entire company. After recently turning face, he could very easily be contending for the Intercontinental Championship later this year.
