This week’s RAW was a bit different from usual. Vince McMahon was missing from backstage and he was not a part of the show at all. Instead, he had quite a few top names making up for his absence backstage in WWE.
Instead, Triple H, Paul Heyman, and Kevin Dunn were the three names who filled in for him. Heyman, the Executive Director of RAW, was the person in charge of the main production table, something that has never happened before.
The reason he missed this show is because he already has a lot on his plate as he is preparing to announce the XFL, which is scheduled to take place this Wednesday.
He will also not be on SmackDown Live, due to his preparation for the announcement.
“So Vince was not at the show tonight. He’s not going to be on the show tomorrow because he’s getting ready for the XFL announcement on Wednesday where they are going to announce all the coaches and all the teams and things like that. So he’s busy with that.”Dave Meltzer
Vince McMahon’s future in WWE seems to be taking quite a turn. He will definitely have a say in the direction that the show takes, but he is not going to be present at the shows anymore.
Triple H will be taking on a lot of the pressure left behind by his father-in-law’s absence. The XFL will be McMahon’s main focus, while Paul Heyman, Eric Bischoff, Triple H, and other officials will be taking on the pressure of regular shows.
“Vince probably won’t be at the shows, that doesn’t mean he won’t have any input, but he’s probably not going to be at the shows. I don’t know what’s going to happen to Triple H, he’s going to go out of his mind. He’ll probably have to skip some SmackDowns because I don’t see how you can go on the road Monday, then fly, you know, what’s the point of even flying home?Dave Meltzer
