Tommy Dreamer recently talked on his Podcast about how he had once considered murdering Paul Heyman and taking his own life. In a heartbreaking rendition of his podcast, Tommy Dreamer talked about how he was suffering from depression after ECW went out of business, and he learnt that Paul Heyman was in WWE. He revealed that he had stayed loyal to Heyman despite being offered good money to go to WCW. As a result, he had been unemployed.
“When ECW went out of business I was 29 years old…Paul Heyman, who I thought me and him were super tight, he screwed me over big time. He was in the WWE, the whole time.”Tommy Dreamer
He went on to say that he had considered jumping the rail and shooting Heyman at WrestleMania X7 before committing suicide himself. Thankfully he came to his senses after a call from Jim Ross, who told him that they were thinking about Dreamer and to hang tight. He remains grateful to Ross for that call to this day.
“I’ll tell you what I wanted to do. It’s sick that I think this. At Wrestlemania [X-7], I was gonna hop the rail and I was gonna [shoot] Paul E. in the back of the head right at the announce table, then I was gonna [shoot] myself… I was gonna hit my pose crack, boom, pull the trigger. Because I was that [depressed].”
“That phone call came from [Ross]. [and the message] said ‘Hey Tommy it’s Jim Ross, just want to let you know, we are still thinking about you, we are gonna get it done, just got to hang tight. Thank you.'”
