Vince McMahon Almost Canceled A WWE Show
In a continuation of his Q&A with Chris Van Vliet, Enzo Amore revealed that Vince McMahon was on the verge of cancelling 205 Live in August, 2017. Amore said that McMahon held off on the cancellation when he suggested that he joins the show to work with then Cruiserweight Champion, Neville.
That is exactly what happened, and Amore ended up being Cruiserweight Champion himself, after defeating Neville at No Mercy in September that year. Almost three years later, 205 Live is still doing well for itself. The show airs after Friday Night Smackdown, and the division even has a strong presence on NXT, with the belt being rechristened as the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. This entire just goes to prove that Vince McMahon can sometimes resist his itchy trigger finger.
