WWE’s American Made Faction Makes No Sense At All
When Chad Gable ruined his connection with all the members of the Alpha Academy by being a jackass, they kicked him out of the group. Chad was the unofficial leader of the Academy, and both he and Otis started it, with Gable acting as the “coach.” The two were great together, but Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri soon joined the group. Gable had an entire true “academy” to work with now. Through his abusive actions, the group could no longer function with Coach Gable, leading to his removal. Chad was all alone as the Wyatt Sicks faction began stalking him. Soon, Gable had a new group known today as the American Made faction.
The American Made faction consists of Gable along with Julius and Brutus Creed. While Ivy Nile was initially not introduced or took part in the faction, she does have a long history with the Creed Brothers. It only made sense to assume that she would eventually join them. This is especially true if they battle the Wyatt Sicks faction. Due to Nikki Cross for the Wyatts, American Made needed a woman to keep her out of the action. Nile was the only person who made sense for this role.
Nile was best friends with Maxxine, so she offered Dupri the chance to join the American Made faction. Dupri turned it down, feeling that she could never go back to the abusive Gable. She’d also be leaving her family behind and wouldn’t do it. Ivy appeared as the Creeds fought the Academy and attacked Dupri from behind. It officially showed us she was part of this faction. One of which, honestly, makes no sense.
WWE’s AMERICAN MADE FACTION
There is a clear connection between Gable and the Creed Brothers. Gable was a Minnesota High School State Champion in 2004 after placing 4th in 2003. Gable was always a professional wrestling fan, so he actually started his pro wrestling career right out of high school. He would do this even as he first attended college at Northern Michigan University, where he wrestled. Seeing his potential as a wrestler after earning a silver medal at the World University Games in 2006, he quit professional wrestling to focus on amateur wrestling.
In 2012, he had an incredible run. He won the silver medal at the Gedza International Games, the Granma Cup bronze medal, the Dave Schultz Memorial International gold medal, the Pan-American Olympic Qualifier silver medal, and the Pan-American Championships gold medal, all in the 84kg weight class. If that wasn’t enough, he won the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials at the 84kg to officially qualify to wrestle at the Olympics. This avoided becoming an alternate who might never wrestle at all.
Gable performed admirably at the 2012 Olympic Games for the United States. He won his match against Keitani Graham from Micronesia but lost to Pablo Shorey of Cuba, eliminating him from the games. Afterward, Gable had the opportunity to try out for WWE and was officially signed in 2013. Gable is impressive, but what of the other members of his American Made faction?
JULIUS CREED:
Julius Creed attended Duke University, where he was a 2-time NCAA All-American and three-time NCAA Academic All-American. In 2018, he won the ACC Heavyweight Championship and even set the Blue Devils record for the most wins in a single season. He ranks second all-time in wins after finishing his collegiate career at Duke. To get a big opportunity to compete at Duke was impressive, and Julius clearly took advantage. If you look at his athletic ability, it makes sense that he did so well there.
Julius participated in the 2016 Olympic Trials but placed fifth, which prevented him from participating in the Olympic Games. He was also brought in to help Daniel Cormier prepare for Jon Jones at UFC 214. Daniel is a wrestler himself, a decorated one in his own right. However, Creed was of a similar size and had the same speed as Jones.
BRUTUS CREED:
Julius’ younger brother, Brutus Creed, attended Otterbein University, where he graduated in 2020. During his collegiate career, he became a two-time NCAA Division III All-American. During his senior year, he had a perfect 30-0 season, ranking him number one in the United States. Sadly, COVID led to the 2020 NCAA Championships being canceled, stopping Brutus from participating.
He had a solid shot to make some major noise, but he still had an excellent career at Otterbein. He finished his college career with a 108-13 record. While this was at the Division III level, Brutus has shown to likely be a better mat wrestler than his brother at times. Because he is much larger, it is impressive that he is the high-flyer of their tag team.
IVY NILE:
Ivy Nile did not have a major college career but is an impressive athlete. She competed as a flyweight in MMA and became a Fitness competitor for a while. Her big break, however, came as a part of Dwayne Johnson’s NBC show, the Titan Games. Nile might compete in MMA, but she has a significant background in jiu-jitsu. Nile’s “legit” background led her to be paired with other impressive athletes like her since NXT, eventually leading to her work with the Creed Brothers.
THE AMERICAN MADE FACTION MAKES NO SENSE
While everything about the American Made faction in WWE seems like a good idea, it actually doesn’t. If you look at the connection each has to legitimate wrestling or fighting, it’s easy to see the connection. A year ago, if Chad Gable had left the Alpha Academy and debuted this faction in 2024, there wouldn’t have been an issue. The issue is that the Creed Brothers and DAMN SURE Ivy Nile saw how Chad was treating the Academy members.
In fact, Nile was on Maxxine’s side when all of this was going on. Keep in mind that the two operated as a tag team while all of the mental and emotional abuse was taking place in the academy. While Nile was not with her when most of this went down, under the Triple H regime, characters aren’t idiots. They watch the product as it is happening or watch it online afterward. Due to social media, there is no way one could work for WWE and not see “anything.”
Ivy supported Dupri and seemed to oppose what Chad was doing to everyone. She encouraged Maxxine, meaning she was fully aware of what Chad was doing to her and the academy. Assuming she would have spoken about it with the Creed Brothers makes sense. If she hadn’t mentioned anything to them beforehand, she surely would have when the Creeds were becoming chummy with Gable.
The thing is, everything gets worse here.
GABLE IS CURSED:
Has anyone fallen down the “Chad Gable is Cursed” rabbit hole? It is not exactly sensible to blame him for everything, but there are a lot of coincidences. When he teamed with Jason Jordan, the two were an impressive tag team on NXT and eventually won the NXT, SmackDown, & RAW Tag Team Titles. They were the first to achieve this triple crown. Jordan was randomly split from the team and went to RAW, where he eventually sustained a career-ending injury.
Gable worked solo for a bit before teaming up with Shelton Benjamin. They never won titles together, and Benjamin went to RAW, where he would be part of the Hurt Business faction. It’s a faction that never achieved anything outside of big wins for Bobby Lashley. Benjamin did hold a tag title with Cedric Alexander, but it was not much. Benjamin is now gone from WWE, too. Only Cedric remains under a WWE contract today.
Now, Gable has essentially broken away from Alpha Academy. This time, HE is the cursed one. The Wyatt Sicks attacked him on their very first night together and have been stalking and randomly attacking him at every opportunity they have had. While some might assume that if he had help, he could get the better of the Wyatts, this is clearly not the case. Gable is now linking his curse to the Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile.
THE IDIOCY OF THE CREEDS & NILE
What probably pains us more than anything is that the American Made faction should never have happened at this point. The Creed Bros. see Gable experiencing hardship, and they want to help, which seems lovely of them. Yet they and everyone else could see that Gable abused his other faction members. One could possibly see Gable’s frustration with his team not winning. However, this was not Gable’s major issue with the Academy members. Gable’s problem was that “HE” could not seem to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship, no matter how hard he tried.
Frustrated by these losses, he then punished and abused the academy members. Chad even made them do his dirty work to get an edge because he proved he could not do anything alone.
The Creeds are seeing all of this, right? They see everything Chad is doing and that he is certainly not someone they should follow. Gable proved he was an inadequate leader. Moreover, he is being stalked by a crew with the spirit of the late Bray Wyatt backing them. “Now” is not the time to be siding with an abusive loser, yet that is exactly what they did.
This makes the Creed Brothers and now Ivy Nile look like morons. Worse than that, it makes them come across as people who are perfectly fine supporting an abuser of any type. Of course, we know this is just a storyline version of Chad Gable here. However, we must look at this from what we see on TV. From this, we’re seeing three people supporting an abuser and assuming it’ll never happen to them, which isn’t how anything works.
